Cleans, washes and sanitizes pots and pans, utensils, kitchen equipment, perhaps flatware, glassware and silverware,and other food contact surfaces at a cafeteria by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

If available, prepares 3-well sink with proper solutions of detergent and sanitizer to clean and sanitize pots & pans, silverware and dishware. Manually cleans and sanitizes pots & pans and other kitchen utensils using 3-well sink method. Changes water as required and uses test-strips to test for proper sanitizer solution.
If available, uses automatic dishwasher to clean silverware, serving trays, flatware, serving utensils and glasses. Monitors temperatures of the washing and rinsing cycles and reports problems to supervisor. Returns all washed items to their appropriate storage areas.
Removes trash from receptacles, changes liners and transports to dumpster. Cleans and sanitizes tables, shelving coolers and other kitchen equipment as required to maintain kitchen sanitation.
MARGINAL DUTIES include the following.

SUMMARY
Disherwasher needed at our Omaha World Herald location.
- May replenish supplies on serving line.
- May mop floor in kitchen, walk-in refrigeration areas, serving area, and/or dining area.
- May help receive and put away groceries, cleaning supplies and other items as needed.
- May assist with moving or setting up tables and chairs.
- May bus tables.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
No prior experience or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or symbolic form. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
